Where is the school located?
We are at 832 Lee St, Des Plaines, IL 60016. (Little Bulgarian Center)
Will classes for the fall be remote or in person?
Our school will follow CDC and state guidelines for the fall. If we're able to return to campus safely, we will not have the remote learning option. Otherwise, we will offer remote learning Chinese Language classes.
How much is the tuition?
Being a parent-run, non-profit organization, we try to keep tuition rates as low as possible. You can see a breakdown of tuition costs and fees on our registration page here.
What is the school schedule like?
Language classes are held on Sundays from 1:10 PM to 4:00 PM. Extracurriculars are optional and take place from 12:10 PM to 1:00 PM.
What classes are available?
We offer 10 levels of Traditional Chinese and 4 levels of Simplified Chinese for students grades K-10
AP Chinese Workshop for students preparing for the AP Chinese test
Traditional Chinese class for adults at any skill level
Optional elective classes Adult Basketball, Adult Badminton, Youth Basketball, Youth Badminton, Chinese Yo-Yo, and Lion Dance Performance.

What is the minimum age requirement for classes?
Our classes are designed by students Chinese capability and not by age. For Traditional Chinese Kindergarten, we recommend a minimum age of 4 or 5. For Simplified Chinese Preschool, we recommend a minimum age of 3 or 4. If uncertain, come visit us and try out a class for free. We’re more than happy to work with you and your child to determine a good fit.
How do I sign up for classes?
Registration is available online during open registration periods.
Visit our Registration page, select “new family” if you are a new family, or “returning family” if you have registered before.
Read and accept consent forms and fill in and submit all of the required information
Submit your payment via Zelle Quickpay to treasurer@cncschool.org and write on the quickpay memo your student's name and grade. Or, bring your payment in person during the school's first three classes. We accept cash, check, or money order.

What is the deadline for enrollment?
Please see our Registration page to see if the current registration period is open. If closed, contact us and we can work with you and your child.
Are there any discounts for returning students or multi-kid registrations?
As a non-profit organization with full transparency, we charge only as much as we need to operate and typically do not offer special discounts. We do offer an Early Bird discounted tuition rate for families who register by the cut-off date. In order to receive the discounted rate for this fall 2024-2025, you must have completed full registration online by 11:59pm (CT) of 6/30/2024.
What is the refund policy?
We offer 3 free classes for any new student to try out at no obligation, before deciding to register. During this tryout period, you may withdraw at any time and receive a full refund. After the end of this tryout period, there will be no refunds given after registering.
What is the referral bonus?
We appreciate it very much when you tell your friends and family about our school. We offer a referral bonus of $50 per student. Only the referring family will receive the bonus, and the new family you refer does not.
If I miss the first semester and join during the second semester, can I get a prorate on the tuition? What if I join just a few weeks late?
If you are joining at the start of the second semester, you will only be charged for one semester instead of two for the school year. All other cases of joining late will not receive any prorated tuition and will pay the full tuition cost.
